An underground movement always strives for innovation and lives on pure creativity - Wolf + Lamb is one such movement and now the partnership that created a flourishing series of labels, events and a growing global community, prepare to release their debut artist LP, entitled ‘Love Someone’. 

Gadi Mizrahi & Zev Eisenberg are both Brooklyn-born musicians who pride themselves on procuring and presenting some of the finest gourmet music from around the world. Coming together over a decade ago, they strived to experience and conquer a new approach to music. And so was born Wolf + Lamb, a project that refuses to conform, yet inspires a legion of followers.

Influenced by a solid knowledge of musical history and inspired by an endless enthusiasm, ‘Love Someone’ unites a diverse array of tracks, keeping in mind not only the dancefloor, but the journey to and from it.

Its fair to say the face of house music has changed in 2009 due to Wolf + Lamb. The label started the year launching a new vinyl platform to release alongside their three-year-old digital imprint and ended with two European tours for the duo, taking in a refreshed and devoted global audience along the way. W+L mark the close of the decade gathering a second round of Signicant Others for another distinguished package.

We don\'t want to know what goes on at Burning Man. We\'re just glad Wolf + Lamb take inspiration from what they see out there, bring it back to Brooklyn and apply it to a deep house aesthetic that has a wandering pop eye. Otherwise, Wolf + Lamb\'s 2009 would not have been possible, potentially depriving us of gems like "If U Had," "I\'ll Set Your House," Nicolas Jaar, "Fall" and much more.

Burning Man sculptures, steam room breaks and a fake hotel: It\'s all part of what has made Wolf + Lamb one of the most exciting labels of 2009. RA\'s William Rauscher sweats it out to find out more.

It\'s 4 PM on a Tuesday and Wolf + Lamb are having a sleepover. You see, sometimes Zev Eisenberg and Gadi Mizrahi\'s Brooklyn compound, the deceptively named Marcy Hotel, really works like a hotel, like right before the WMC, when their whole label roster comes to stay. Then there\'s a good chance that a visit will yield Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves lounging in the living room clad in t-shirts and sweatpants. A projector displays The Cartoon Network on the wall, and there\'s talk of the daily pilgrimage to the in-house steam room. This fraternal chill-out says a lot about Wolf + Lamb, a name that in one sense refers to Zev and Gadi, and in another to the close-knit musical community they\'ve cultivated for the past eight years.

Wolf + Lamb follow up the huge Seth Troxler release and step forward with their own production paying homage to their homeland with ‘Brooklynn’ EP.

The Wolf + Lamb sound is simple and groove-led, citing multi-cultural influences true to the vibrant New York scene. ‘Therapist’ is reminiscent of the old Chicago sound featuring the vocals of fellow Brooklynn resident, Smirk. ‘If U Had‘ has a similar vein, an edited version of a 30 min jam session that Shaun Reeves has turned into a peak-time track, peppered with old Motown vocals. ‘Must Be Brooklynn’ is the deeper sibling of the package and the gliding pianos and broken beats of ‘Idiosyncratic’ provide an onslaught of jazz-infused house music. There is a digital-only treat in ‘Keep me up all night [Dancing]’, true to its name, rolling beats and melodies are fed under a sexy sample beckoning you to the dancefloor. Already charted by Damian Lazarus, this one is worth seeking out...
