SIMPLE CELEBRATES IT'S 50th RELEASE with Will Saul & Tam Cooper

Simple celebrates it's 50th single release (each one of those 50 have been released on that black stuff known by old people as vinyl) in November 2010 - a release that will see the founder, A&R, label manager and tea boy Will Saul and his long term production partner Tam Cooper team up for a limited edition gatefold vinyl double pack EP (yep they will loose shit loads of money but hey, not many people get to 50 vinyl releases without loosing their house, car and mind so we think its worth celebrating) release that will feature 4 new tracks from Will & Tam and remixes from Wolf + Lamb, Nicolas Jaar and Jonny White & Kenny Glasgow (Art Department).

Nashville’s Cortney Tidwell has quietly spread her name, but not only in the indie rock and singer songwriter business. Her debut album ‘Don’t Let Stars Keep Us Tangled Up’ in 2007, plenty of guest performances, live tours and stunning remixes of her songs made her unique voice instantly recognizable. Her latest album ‘Boys’ released in June 2009 once again inspires musicians to reinterpret and develop her songs in an electronic setting.

2009 has proven to be Michel Cleis’s breakthrough year with hugely popular releases on Cadenza (‘Uva Fragolina’) and Supplement Facts (‘East of Eden’) and a string of sought after remixes. Fresh from his epic 3 disc mix for EQ Recordings (Balance 015), Will is back in the studio with his long term production partner Tam Cooper for this remix.

Will Saul and his production partner Tam Cooper are back for the 3rd time this year on Simple with ‘Where is it?’ featuring esteemed Philly vocalist Ursula Rucker (The Roots). Steve Bug prompted Will to re-visit the track, that featured on his debut album Space Between in 2005, when he contacted Will earlier this year and asked if he could rework ‘Where is it?". Thrilled to get Steve on board, Will decided his original version needed to be re-loved for 2009. Will & Tam aim to maintain the same sweet sense of suspense and emotion present in the original whilst increasing the sense of urgency and intensity with the introduction of a big, reverb drenched 101 bass line.

Will Saul has been selected to mix the next installment in the Balance series on EQ recordings following on from the likes of Joris Voorn, James Holden and Lee Burridge. He will be putting together a triple CD selection that will touch on house, techno, disco, dubstep, electronica and beyond. The compilation will be released on the 27th October and supported with an extensive press and marketing campaign.

Other release info - Will has also just remixed The Juan Maclean's classic 'Happy House' on DFA, ‘Palace’ by Cortney Tidwell and 'Justify' by Appleblim & Ramadanman on Applepips. All will be out over the summer/early autumn. He has singles on his label Aus with a remix by dOp in Oct and he is remaking his 2005 classic 'Where Is It' with Ursula Rucker for a release in Nov on Simple with a Steve Bug remix

Will and Tam went back to their roots and dusted off the sampler for ‘Teddy’s Back\'. Strings and vocal cuts bring the soul and their trusty 101 delivers the bass line. As with many of their previous tracks together all the percussion is recorded in live - "because it sounds better and is fun to do". They set out to achieve something that was heavy, rolling and organic yet with memorable moments that doesn’t disappear into a never ending ableton conga loop....The original is already a firm favorite with the Wolf + Lamb crew and Gilb\'R\' from Chateau Flight has also been supporting it for many months from an early version.
